All My Friend’s Wrote Me Off…

THEY WROTE ME OFF!!!

Yes it’s true… 6 years ago when I started doing MLM all my friends wrote me off!

They said I’d be better off with a college degree so I can secure a good job. For awhile I would question myself… “Are they right? Is earning an income from home impossible? Is college and a career my only hope?”

Some days I wanted to give up, turn off my auto-ship and call it a day.. I would call my sponsor and tell him I quit.. the next thing I know he’s at my door delivering personal development books/CDs.

Little things like that kept me in the game: the amazing people I became friends with, this culture I felt I could grow with, and all the personal development that came along with it.

I started writing my book in 2011 & published it the next year. My friends wrote me off yet again, and told me to stop putting my heart and soul into something silly like this.

At that point though I was in too deep… there was no going back! I had invested far too many hours and dollars into my business, growing my network, traveling to promote my new book..

Here we are 4 years later.. all those same friends are tired of seeing people holding the book they once mocked.. asking for a free copy because they don’t get paid til next week.. silly isn’t it?

Moral of the story is, don’t give up!

If friends & family aren’t doubting you yet, you’re not working hard enough..

If friends aren’t calling you crazy and questioning you, you need to GO CRAZY!

Stay consistent on posting.. make the phone calls.. send the FB messages.. mail the samples.. speak on the conference calls.. host the events.. drive 3 hours for a one on one.. just do whatever it takes! Prove the naysayers wrong, don’t give them the satisfaction of seeing YOU quit!

Love you guys.. appreciate all that you do!

What Does Network Marketing & Two Ships Have In Common?

From The Desk Of The Beach Bum Author, Joe Stewart

mlm auto shipHello there my fellow marketer or wannabe network marketer.

You are probably reading that title, and thinking to yourself…

Joe, you have totally lost it brother.

Your new book was great and all dude, but what the heck are you talking about with the whole, two ships and network marketing thing…?”

Great question.

From one perspective, network marketing has NOTHING to do with two large ships.

Network marketing is really all about sharing a product or service that you are passionate about with your friends, family and new people you meet through living life. Then you would typically follow up with them by seeing if they are open to taking a look at how to make money from home, and if they are not, you kindly ask them to support you by purchasing some of the great products you now market.

On the other perspective though, building and maintaining a large network marketing organization AND a large residual income each month… there are two ships that are crucial to your success for you and your business.

Are you ready?

The two ships are:

The Autoship

and

Jumping Ship

Are you familiar with these two terms?

If you are currently building a network marketing company, you are probably on what is called an auto ship. You know, the certain dollar amount of products that YOU must purchase each month, in order to earn commissions in your compensation plan.

Here’s a quick story for you on the topic.

Back when I was in Amway (my first MLM) you either had to purchase 100 points worth of product each month, which equated to roughly $300 depending on which products you bought for example their vitamins and skin care have the most “points” on them, so most people would buy the expensive $100+ Nutrilite Double X or Perfect Pack, and maybe some skin care treatment etc. Although they didn’t have a mandatory auto ship, people were still scrambling to either order enough product to get paid, or make enough sales to retail customers.

amway auto shipThis is the key to MLM residual income!

If you are not ordering YOUR 100 points, or whatever it may be in your current company, not only will you not get paid… but your sponsor doesn’t earn anything off of you being in business either. The same thing goes for the people you recruit into the business. They must do “their part” by ordering the required amount. In most companies, let’s use coffee just to keep it simple… I mean who doesn’t like coffee?

So lets say it is $25 for a box of 30 instant coffee sticks, a month supply. The company would probably require that you be on a 2 box auto ship of $50… one box for yourself to drink each day, and another box to pass out samples to friends and so on. Make sense?

If your product is not something that people get hooked on or emotionally attached too, there is really no residual income because they will stop ordering after a few months. Be sure to put your business cap on when deciding which MLM products to promote… if it isn’t something people use or consume on a daily basis, the residual income aspect would be rather small or “wussy” as they call it at Empower Network.

The next ship has a lot to do with what I just said as well… the Jumping Ship.

This is when you recruit somebody into your organization, and after a few months they quit to go join a new network marketing company. This happens all day, everyday… and it frustrates hundreds if not thousands of network marketers each year.

frustrated with MLM

People become so attached to their MLM, that they forget we live in America… the home of Free Enterprise… Helllllllllo.

If your product is too expensive, not competitive with the products in stores or being offered by your rival MLM company, people will jump ship if that means they are going from spending $75 a month on coffee for themselves and samples, down to say $50. It simply makes more sense for them and their customers.

So again my friends, when you are joining your first MLM or a new one, be sure to look over the fine print and agreement you are clicking “Yes I agree” to. You never know what kinda corporate greed is hidden in the terms of service in some of these MLM companies.

Find a product you are passionate about! It could be coffee, energy drinks, protein shakes… or something non consumable like cell phone or energy service, or monthly marketing training. As long as there is a big enough market to where thousands of people would order and reorder your product each and every month (sometimes more) you will receive checks month after month, long after you have stopped building the business… and long after you are gone.

If you plan on passing down your networking organization to your kids, it is very important that your company CEO and corporate staff have agreements with their manufacturers, shippers, and any other portion of the business that they outsource so that their business will not only be here for 2-5 years down the road… but 50-100+ years down the road!

I hope you have enjoyed this article about the two very important “ships” in network marketing!

If you want to start working for yourself but feel you don’t have the money then you’re wrong. If you have a computer and space to put it then you have all you need. You can also start you home business and work it around your job. You can gradually commit more time as your home business grows.

Why Are Direct Sales MLM Peeps So Brain washed?

Why Are Direct Sales Peeps So Brain washed?

direct sales brainwashAre you online looking for more information about the claim that most network marketers are brain washed ding bats?

Maybe a friend or close family member is totally brain washed by the direct sales industry and you want answers.

Who knows… maybe you are worried that you yourself might be brain washed to promote your MLM like it’s some sort of cult.

After being involved in the controversial industry known as mlm or network marketing for over 3 years now, I have come in contact with hundreds of promoters from various different companies. They rant and rave about how they have best product in the market today. They tell you how their upline is the best leadership coach known to mankind.

Most of the time they throw out crazy income claims about their sponsor and others above them in business, whether they be making “$50k-$500k per month” so on, and so fourth. Although there are thousands of network marketers who earn $50k+ per month or more and what not, we all know that most of these claims are not true. So why are most network marketers so brainwashed and close minded? Here is my opinion…

Why are Networkers Brain Washed?

When you first get involved in our industry, the person who invited you to the event 3-way phone call, or webinar is usually someone you like and trust.

You have probably known them for a while or if you just met them today, there is just something you like about them to where you listen to them, trust them, and believe what they have to say whether it is true or not.

Some network marketers never open up a book, or do any research on their own into these crazy income claims or product testimonials. I certainly feel bad for these people, as they are simply sheep following the herd.

Why The Brain Washed Network Marketers Will Fail

amway brain wash
Amway Brain Wash

These brain washed sheep will continue to follow the so called “proven system” taught to them by their upline sponsor or other mentors, whether they are making money or not. Yes people.. some people are that sucked into their company, product or mentor. They don’t do their own research or look for a solution to their problems because they are truly that brainwashed.

The typical “MLM looney” will send you “cold hard facts” about their company, including income claims, product stories and testimonials. Nine times out of ten, the cold hard “facts” that they preach and send to you, are from their own companies official blog and website LOL. For example, a MonaVie distributor may tell you about the antioxidant powers found in their bottle of super juice. So they send you a link to the Official MonaVie blog like it is some trusted source of information.

If your Brain washed already, here is Tip #1: Always Get Third Party Facts, Comparisons, and Opinions.

The company website is the most biased website you can go to. Of course they are going to tell you have the highest ORAC score, most acai berries in their juice… but if an independent lab and team of scientists is telling me that Brand A has more nutritional value then Brand B, I am going to take their word over you, your companies HIRED team of scientists.

It is just common sense folks.

I am in MLM too, just no longer brain washed… Yes I’ll admit when I first started 4 years ago in Amway I would buy the overpriced vitamins and supplements, go to weekly meetings and training’s that cost $5-$10 because that’s what we were told to do, maybe you can relate…

But now there’s companies out there who are only requiring their distributors to order a high quality health product for a small price of only $39. Most companies are requiring their distributors to order between $125-$250 month on health, beauty, and other consumable products, or digital products and so on just to remain active and get paid.

No wonder why so many people quit MLM…

These greedy CEO’s have their psychology wrong. If they would lower their prices so that the little guy has a shot in home business, the distributors would order more and they would also have a high customer to distributor ratio which is very important in our industry as far as laws and regulations go.

Instead of believing the random person on Facebook who messaged you about their business opportunity, you should do your own research on your own time. I personally have third party teams and other network marketers over at the MLM Times official website do the research for me so I can analyze the compensation plan, as well as the product market and see if it is big enough to build a billion dollar company and then I make an informed decision as to which company I join and endorse.

Sure, your company is great… so is mine!

But that is like President Obama sending out a link on his official Facebook page with a message over it stating “Unemployment numbers decrease under the Obama administration”. So if your an Obama supporter and promoter, you go with those numbers and pat yourself on the back.

Then what?

You look over at Mitt Romney’s official Facebook page to see a similar post.. “Unemployment Numbers Rise Under the Obama Presidency”.

As a network marketer, you have to be careful about what information you take in as facts and preach to your audience.

If you are a MonaVie distributor, check some third party sites as well, don’t get brain washed by the exotic cars and million dollar bonuses. Don’t always believe everything you hear.

I know you trust your up line and business partners and you want to believe everything they, or the corporate team of your company says. Although that is fine, be smart and remember the famous quote.. “Trust, but verify.”

Obviously I am a career network marketer, and I don’t think that every promoter is one of these “MLM looneys” that I am talking about. Just be careful about the information you take in, and verify the facts before you go spread what is an actually an opinion as a fact.

I hope this post helps open your mind to the brain washed myth in MLM and causes you to “Trust, but verify”.

I also hope it has brain washed you to join me in making money online TODAY!

If you want to start working for yourself but feel you don’t have the money then you’re wrong. If you have a computer and space to put it then you have all you need. You can also start you home business and work it around your job. You can gradually commit more time as your home business grows.

MonaVie Lawsuit: Former Black Diamond Joe Licciardi Sued By MonaVie

BREAKING MLM NEWS: Former Black Diamond Joe Licciardi Sued By MonaVie

I was reading the Salt Lake Tribune the other day because a former MonaVie Black Diamond that I am friends with on Facebook, shared the link on his public Facebook wall. I read the article and did some more research about what was going on over at MonaVie.

Read the Salt Lake Tribune Article here.

Come to find out, Mon a Vie was in court last week with a former top income earner (ranked 30th in overall commissions) who is former Black Diamond Joe Licciardi, and they sued him because he posted some stuff on his Facebook wall about the new network marketing business he is promoting called Momentis Energy.

MonaVie Lawsuit 2012

The Salt Lake U.S District Judge Waddoups threw out MonaVie’s case against former Black Diamond Joe Licciardi. The judge said that “MonaVie of South Jordan had failed to show that Joseph Licciardi had likely violated policies of the company, which markets a nutritional fruit juice and weight-loss products to a network of independent distributors.”

Licciardi and his wife left MonaVie late last year to start promoting up and coming multi-level marketing energy company called Momentis Energy. In a recent interview with Business for Home, Joe stated this:

“We have come to realize that no matter how good a product is, and in a suffering economy like we are in today, it is extremely difficult to get people to change their buying habits, outside of their basic needs, because the moment they run into financial hardship, many will stop ordering that product.” Says Licciardi.

“The challenge of trying to grow, or even just maintain their auto-ship can become next to impossible. So for us to find a network marketing company that has an essential product or service which every household must maintain, was beyond attractive.” Says Joe.

I want to wish Joe the best of luck at his new company Momentis. Previously Monavie CEO Dallin Larsen said distributors of MonaVie are free to leave MonaVie at anytime to pursue other companies, but that does not seem apparent after seeing the company sue a former distributor this week.

Be careful Mr. Larsen, suing a former distributor over free speech is a touchy subject. You might offend conservative Americans and Mon a Vie distributors who feel that as American’s we are able to say what we want, whenever we want. And we damn right aren’t gonna change that fact to push your acai berry juice.

To the top we go…

If you’re tired of your job and really want to work for yourself then stop making excuses and do it.
