Why Are Direct Sales Peeps So Brain washed?
Are you online looking for more information about the claim that most network marketers are brain washed ding bats?
Maybe a friend or close family member is totally brain washed by the direct sales industry and you want answers.
Who knows… maybe you are worried that you yourself might be brain washed to promote your MLM like it’s some sort of cult.
After being involved in the controversial industry known as mlm or network marketing for over 3 years now, I have come in contact with hundreds of promoters from various different companies. They rant and rave about how they have best product in the market today. They tell you how their upline is the best leadership coach known to mankind.
Most of the time they throw out crazy income claims about their sponsor and others above them in business, whether they be making “$50k-$500k per month” so on, and so fourth. Although there are thousands of network marketers who earn $50k+ per month or more and what not, we all know that most of these claims are not true. So why are most network marketers so brainwashed and close minded? Here is my opinion…
Why are Networkers Brain Washed?
When you first get involved in our industry, the person who invited you to the event 3-way phone call, or webinar is usually someone you like and trust.
You have probably known them for a while or if you just met them today, there is just something you like about them to where you listen to them, trust them, and believe what they have to say whether it is true or not.
Some network marketers never open up a book, or do any research on their own into these crazy income claims or product testimonials. I certainly feel bad for these people, as they are simply sheep following the herd.
Why The Brain Washed Network Marketers Will Fail
Amway Brain Wash
These brain washed sheep will continue to follow the so called “proven system” taught to them by their upline sponsor or other mentors, whether they are making money or not. Yes people.. some people are that sucked into their company, product or mentor. They don’t do their own research or look for a solution to their problems because they are truly that brainwashed.
The typical “MLM looney” will send you “cold hard facts” about their company, including income claims, product stories and testimonials. Nine times out of ten, the cold hard “facts” that they preach and send to you, are from their own companies official blog and website LOL. For example, a MonaVie distributor may tell you about the antioxidant powers found in their bottle of super juice. So they send you a link to the Official MonaVie blog like it is some trusted source of information.
If your Brain washed already, here is Tip #1: Always Get Third Party Facts, Comparisons, and Opinions.
The company website is the most biased website you can go to. Of course they are going to tell you have the highest ORAC score, most acai berries in their juice… but if an independent lab and team of scientists is telling me that Brand A has more nutritional value then Brand B, I am going to take their word over you, your companies HIRED team of scientists.
It is just common sense folks.
I am in MLM too, just no longer brain washed… Yes I’ll admit when I first started 4 years ago in Amway I would buy the overpriced vitamins and supplements, go to weekly meetings and training’s that cost $5-$10 because that’s what we were told to do, maybe you can relate…
But now there’s companies out there who are only requiring their distributors to order a high quality health product for a small price of only $39. Most companies are requiring their distributors to order between $125-$250 month on health, beauty, and other consumable products, or digital products and so on just to remain active and get paid.
No wonder why so many people quit MLM…
These greedy CEO’s have their psychology wrong. If they would lower their prices so that the little guy has a shot in home business, the distributors would order more and they would also have a high customer to distributor ratio which is very important in our industry as far as laws and regulations go.
Instead of believing the random person on Facebook who messaged you about their business opportunity, you should do your own research on your own time. I personally have third party teams and other network marketers over at the MLM Times official website do the research for me so I can analyze the compensation plan, as well as the product market and see if it is big enough to build a billion dollar company and then I make an informed decision as to which company I join and endorse.
Sure, your company is great… so is mine!
But that is like President Obama sending out a link on his official Facebook page with a message over it stating “Unemployment numbers decrease under the Obama administration”. So if your an Obama supporter and promoter, you go with those numbers and pat yourself on the back.
You look over at Mitt Romney’s official Facebook page to see a similar post.. “Unemployment Numbers Rise Under the Obama Presidency”.
As a network marketer, you have to be careful about what information you take in as facts and preach to your audience.
If you are a MonaVie distributor, check some third party sites as well, don’t get brain washed by the exotic cars and million dollar bonuses. Don’t always believe everything you hear.
I know you trust your up line and business partners and you want to believe everything they, or the corporate team of your company says. Although that is fine, be smart and remember the famous quote.. “Trust, but verify.”
Obviously I am a career network marketer, and I don’t think that every promoter is one of these “MLM looneys” that I am talking about. Just be careful about the information you take in, and verify the facts before you go spread what is an actually an opinion as a fact.
I hope this post helps open your mind to the brain washed myth in MLM and causes you to “Trust, but verify”.
